Privacy Policy

Next Steps is an application operated by Our Savior’s Church Family of Ministries (“Our Savior’s Church”, “we”) to help people take their next step of faith and to make sure nobody who asks for help is forgotten. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.

What we collect

• Your name, email address, phone number, and the campus you attend.
• Your answers to the Next Steps assessment, and the steps recommended from them.
• Messages you send or receive inside the application.
• A record of contact between you and the volunteer walking with you — when it happened and whether you were reached.
• If you are a volunteer or staff member: your role, the campuses you serve, and your notification settings.

Why we collect it

To pair you with a volunteer Connector, to show that person what would help you, and to let church staff see that people are actually being followed up rather than falling through a gap. We do not use any of it for advertising.

Text messages

We only send text messages to people who have switched them on themselves, inside their own account. Holding your phone number is not the same as permission to text it, and we do not treat it as such.

Mobile information and messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not share or sell mobile information, or consent to receive text messages, to anyone for any purpose. Phone numbers are used by Our Savior’s Church Family of Ministries only to send the notifications described above, through our messaging provider.

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. You can also switch them off at any time in your own account settings. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies and depends on activity on your account — typically a few messages a month.

Who can see your information

• The volunteer Connector paired with you.
• Church staff responsible for your campus.
• Nobody else. Volunteers cannot see people at other campuses, and staff access is limited to the campuses they oversee.

We use service providers to run the application — hosting, our database, and email and text delivery. They process this information on our behalf and may not use it for anything else.

What we never do

• Sell your information, or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
• Share mobile numbers or text-message consent with third parties for promotional purposes.
• Publish anything you write in the application.

How long we keep it

For as long as you are part of the Next Steps process, and afterwards as part of the church’s pastoral records. You can ask us to remove your information at any time.

Your choices

• Change your notification settings, including texts, in your own account.
• Ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete it.
